google.com/docs

Well today i was trying to open my google documents and i keyed in google.com/docs hoping that google would redirect me to documents, apparently it didnot but instead it downloaded an empty text file with the name "docs" into my downloads folder. Is google trying to do something which i didnot know about or is there something wrong with the system?
